Best NASCAR betting apps in NC

NASCAR odds are available at most online sportsbooks in North Carolina. Here’s a look at the top online sportsbooks in NC and their NASCAR offerings.

    FanDuel Sportsbook NC

FanDuel started out by running NASCAR fantasy sports contests before adding an online sportsbook in 2018. Betting is available on every NASCAR race at FanDuel Sportsbook. You can bet on the race winner, a driver to secure a podium finish, or a driver to finish inside the top 10.

This online sportsbook also offers matchup betting, which pits two specific drivers against one another. You simply have to decide which driver will win heads-up, without worrying about the rest of the field. Live NASCAR betting is available too. There are also NASCAR futures at FanDuel, and you can still compete in NASCAR fantasy leagues too.

There is a dedicated NASCAR section within the FanDuel blog, which you can access by clicking on the “Research” tab. It provides regular news, betting guides, and series win simulations throughout each NASCAR season.

    BetMGM NC Sportsbook

    Full Review: BetMGM North Carolina

BetMGM became the official sports betting partner of Charlotte Motor Speedway in January 2024. The deal earned BetMGM market access in North Carolina, allowing it to offer its app and website statewide. “This partnership with BetMGM will bring sports fans new ways to enjoy their favorite events while expanding North Carolina’s tax base, supporting colleges and facilitating recruitment of major events for the future,” said Charlotte Motor Speedway Executive Vice President and General Manager Greg Walter.

There is a dedicated NASCAR section at BetMGM, which includes futures markets and betting options on individual races. BetMGM is very quick to publish odds on future races such as Clash at the Coliseum and Daytona 500 each year, so it can be an interesting source of early value. Wagering options include the race winner, podium finishes, the winning team, and live betting markets.

    Bet365 North Carolina

    Full Review: Bet365 North Carolina

Bet365 is another high-quality betting app for NASCAR fans. It stands out by offering each-way betting on NASCAR races. That means you make two bets: one on the driver to win, and another on the driver to place.

Here is an example of an each-way NASCAR bet:

    • Let’s say you place a $10 each-way bet on Denny Hamlin to win a race at odds of +1100. That would cost you $20 ($10 on the win and $10 on the place).
    • Both parts of the bet would pay out if Hamlin were to win the race. Only the place bet would succeed if he finished second, third, or fourth.
    • Bet365 will give you a quarter of the odds on the place. A quarter of +1100 is +275.
    • If Hamlin were to win the race, you would receive a payout of $157.50 ($110 profit on the $10 win bet, a $27.50 payout from the $10 place bet, and the full return of your $20 bet amount).
    • If he were to finish second, third, or fourth, you would receive a payout of $37.50, which represents an overall profit of $17.50. You get $27.50 for him placing and your $10 bet amount is also returned.

This is an interesting alternative to simply betting on a driver to win or finish on the podium. There are lots of other NASCAR betting options at Bet365, and it provides odds boosts on big races too.

    DraftKings North Carolina

DraftKings tied up a major partnership with NASCAR in January 2024. The agreement allows DraftKings to offer online sports betting in North Carolina, operating on NASCAR’s master license.  “We are thrilled to continue working with DraftKings to deliver NASCAR fans more engagement opportunities and bring its leading mobile sportsbook to North Carolina,” said NASCAR managing director Joe Solosky.

It also makes DraftKings the exclusive Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) partner of NASCAR in the United States and Canada. NASCAR fans in North Carolina have been able to enter fantasy contests at DraftKings for many years, and they can now place traditional sports bets too. The app offers competitive NASCAR betting odds on every race throughout the season, along with a variety of futures betting markets.

There are often free-to-play contests for NASCAR fans at DraftKings Sportsbook too. You can make predictions about upcoming races, and entrants are then ranked in a leaderboard. The best-performing players are awarded bonus bets as prizes.

    Caesars Sportsbook North Carolina

This is the best NC sports betting app for NASCAR odds boosts. There are normally multiple boosts available on each race, including enhanced odds on various drivers to finish on the podium or in the top 10.

Caesars Sportsbook also offers a wide range of NASCAR futures betting options. You can bet on the NASCAR Cup Series champion, along with over/under bets on the number of wins each driver will earn during the season. Another market allows fans to speculate on who will make the NASCAR Championship 4.

You can also wager on head-to-heads over the course of the season, such as Chase Elliott vs. Christopher Bell in the championship standings or Hendrick Motorsports vs. Joe Gibbs Racing. There are various markets on each race too, from the winner to individual matchups.

    Fanatics North Carolina

Fanatics offers the largest collection of NASCAR merchandise online, from pit jackets and cold weather gear to signed pictures and model cars. The company has now branched out by launching an online sportsbook, which made its debut towards the end of 2023. Fanatics now allows NASCAR fans to bet on every race.

This app offers the same markets as its key rivals in the Tar Heel State. You can wager on the race winner, podium finishes, matchups, in-play options, and futures. The odds on certain drivers are market beating, so you can often find great value at Fanatics.

You will receive FanCash each time you bet on NASCAR at this online sportsbook. The FanCash can be used to place bets on upcoming races, and your winnings will be paid in cash if you succeed. Alternatively, you can use it to buy apparel and NASCAR merchandise at the Fanatics store, so it is a hybrid of an online sportsbook and retailer.

    NASCAR betting odds explained

NASCAR Cup Series races have more in-race and pre-race betting options now than ever before. Here’s a quick look at the standard NASCAR bets you can make before and during races:

    • Outright Race Winner: Bet on pre-race co-favorite Kyle Larson, for example, to win the Daytona 500 at +1200 odds. Or bet on any driver to win an upcoming race.
    • Book your bet at currently posted odds: These are posted in the week ahead of a race and look long for most options, considering no driver is a true favorite to win any NASCAR race. The odds tell you how much you stand to win for every $100 bet, like the $1,200 you’ll get betting $100 on Larson if he wins at Daytona.
    • Pole position: Bet on Chase Elliott, for example, to win pole position during qualifying for the Daytona 500 at +1000 odds. Or bet on any driver to post the fastest lap time in qualifying for an upcoming race.
    • Driver matchups/groups: Bet on Aric Almirola, for example, to finish ahead of Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in the Daytona 500 at -135 odds. Or bet on any driver against another or a group in an upcoming race.
    • Podium/Top 5/Top 10 finish: Bet on pre-race co-favorite Denny Hamlin, for example, to finish in the top three in the Daytona 500 at +310 odds. Or bet on any driver to finish in the top three, five, or ten in an upcoming race at increasingly reduced odds compared to outrights.

    NASCAR prop bets

Go beyond standard race winner, finishing position, and driver matchup NASCAR betting with NASCAR prop bets. NASCAR race props include bets on:

    • Which driver will post the single-fastest lap time in a race
    • The number of crashes in a race
    • The manufacturer of the winning car
    • The number of caution flags in a race
    • The number of cars finishing a race
    • The driver who leads the most laps in a race
    • The number of lead changes in a race

Bet on NASCAR races in real-time

The NASCAR partnership with BetGenius, the official NASCAR data product, opens up a whole world of live NASCAR betting options to NASCAR fans. It leverages exclusive real-time data captured during races and uses an algorithmic model to create split-second odds throughout races.

Live markets include updated race winner odds, new driver matchups, and top 3 finishes among the more than 25 in-race bet types available.

Essentially, the data lets sportsbooks take bets on every lap of every NASCAR race and creates an engaging live betting experience for anyone watching.

Bet on the NASCAR Cup Championship

NASCAR futures let you place bets around the outcome of the entire NASCAR Cup Series season. Pick:

    • Which driver will win the NASCAR Cup Series Championship
    • Which driver will earn the most points
    • Which driver will have the most wins

Place your bets throughout the year at odds that are adjusted as the season plays out. Of course, you lock in the posted NC sportsbook odds at the time of your bet.

What are the best NASCAR races/series to bet on?

The NASCAR Cup Series season runs from February through November and includes 26 regular season races and 10 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs races.

Drivers accumulate wins and points to earn a spot in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs throughout the regular season races. The 16 drivers with the most wins or points make the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs.

These 16 drivers start the playoffs with a certain number of points based on their regular-season performance. Then, they compete for more points and the chance to advance through a three-race round of 16, 12, and 8.

The Final Four then compete for the NASCAR Cup Series title in a single NASCAR Cup Series Championship race. Here’s a look at the NASCAR races held in North Carolina and the NASCAR season’s biggest events:

    • Busch Clash: It’s the first race of the season in early February at Daytona Road Course in Daytona Beach, Florida.
    • DAYTONA 500: It’s the most notable race of the season; it’s held in mid-February at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.
    • NASCAR All-Star Open and NASCAR All-Star Race: It’s held in May in Wilkesboro, North Carolina.
    • Coca-Cola 600: It’s the longest race of the season, held during Memorial Day Weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina.
    • The Bank of America ROYAL 400: This is the other NASCAR Cup Series race held annually at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina. It’s hosted in early October, using the infield road course referred to as “The Roval.”
    • Cook Out Southern 500: This is the first race in the NASCAR Playoffs Round of 16 at the beginning of September. It runs at Darlington Raceway in South Carolina.
    • NASCAR Cup Series Championship: This season-ending championship race is set for Nov. 5 for the 2023 season. It’ll run at Phoenix Raceway in Avondale, Arizona.

How are NASCAR odds set, and when are lines released?

NASCAR futures odds for the upcoming season come out almost immediately after the previous season ends. The odds for each race are released on Mondays following the previous race.

Sportsbooks set NASCAR odds based on the results of the previous race, past performances, points standings, and other factors. These odds are adjusted throughout the week based on betting patterns and similar factors.

Sportsbook rules for betting on NASCAR

Sportsbooks post standard auto racing and NASCAR betting rules telling you how they’re going to handle postponements, delays, disqualifications, and other situations that may occur. Here are some common stipulations.

    • If a race is postponed due to weather or other circumstances, bets stand only if the race is run within 48 hours.
    • Once an official winner of a race is named, bets are settled and can’t be changed, even if NASCAR names the winner of an unfinished race.
    • If a driver goes at least one lap, the finishing position of the car counts for all bets even if a replacement driver is used.
    • Disqualifications count unless they occur more than 30 minutes after a race.
    • All bets on head-to-head matchups are voided if both drivers do not start the race.
