A $275 million expansion project at Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel will be completed in Spring 2024. The plan includes 25,000 square feet of new gaming floor space, making it the largest of North Carolina casinos.
Developers expect to complete the project in the first half of 2024, employing as many as 900 construction workers and support staff. The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians own the property under its EBCI Holdings division, which also owns a casino in Indiana. It is one of the largest tribal casinos in North Carolina. Caesars Entertainment operates Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River.
Fans of the popular World Series of Poker should take note because the new space will host the North Carolina WSOP, possibly as soon as 2024.
