NC State Wolfpack Bowl Game History

The NC State Wolfpack had a season full of injuries, ups and downs, upsets, losses, and some big wins. The Wolfpack started the season 4-0, including a season-opening 1-point win over East Carolina. Two losses to ranked teams over the next three games were not shocking.

What was shocking was two straight losses late in the season to Boston College and Louisville. The regular season did end on a high note with a massive win over North Carolina in double overtime. Now the Wolfpack have a chance for one more game this season, facing off with former ACC foe Maryland in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl in Charlotte on Dec. 30.

North Carolina online sports betting won’t be legal for this season’s bowl games, but North Carolinians can expect to place their first bets in 2024.

NC State vs. Maryland Betting Odds

The Terrapins had a much more predictable season, only losing one game in which the point spread favored them, and that was to Purdue, which won the Big Ten West. Maryland played in arguably the toughest division in all of college football.

Maryland is a slight favorite over NC State in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, per top college football odds at NC sportsbooks with a point total close to 50.

Point Spread

College football bowl game odds in North Carolina have NC State as a 1.5-point underdog, and while it is ranked and has a better record, the point spread may be indicative of how tough of a schedule Maryland played this season. Prices are pretty much identical at the moment at -110 for both NC State and Maryland to cover their side of the spread.

NC State, as the dog, holds the moneyline value, with the best value (+105) coming from Caesars Sportsbook and PointsBet Sportsbook. One thing to consider and look out for leading up to the bowl game is transfer portal entries from both teams. The transfer portal is affecting the bowl game season, unlike anything we have ever seen.

Total Points

The over/under total is 47.5 or 48 points, with the best value for the under coming at -110 at Caesars and DraftKings. The best value for the Over is at PointsBet with -105. Maryland’s excellent offense matching up with NC State’s strong defense will be an exciting matchup with contrasting styles.
